Their abundance is regulated by vasopressin, glucocorticoids, and mineralocorticoids. These regulatory mechanisms may be important in disease states such as diabetes. Function: Specialized low-affinity urea transporter. Mediates urea transport in erythrocytes. Subcellular Location: Membrane; Multi-pass membrane protein. Cell membrane.
